Clothing Booth Event at Arizona State University
After some serious thinking and customer feedback, we made the decision to start showcasing our products live in-person. Two weeks ago was our very first booth event at Arizona State University campus. The actual setting up of the booth was a snap (especially with an EZ-Up pop tent). There were 3 of us that day to help man the booth: 2 sales associates and our logistics manager.
We enjoyed seeing both familiar faces and talking with new customers. Among all of our modern and retro-inspired dresses, the “Banana Co.” and “Quinn” dresses were especially popular; now both on clearance! We also had a large selection of accessories, including an exclusive $1.98 basket of select jewelry pieces to choose from (not sold on our website). There were a variety of hand-woven scarves in different colors, but as you can imagine they weren’t as popular. Sastique is locally stationed in Arizona and although the team was accustomed to the dry desert heat, we never anticipated it would be as warm as it was. Next time if we do a summer event, we’ll bring in the ice-filled kiddie pool.
Thanks to everyone who came to visit us. We hope to see you again soon at our next booth event!

Customers coming to visit us at the booth. We had an assortment of retro-inspired dresses and accessories for both teachers and students.
The mighty sun beating down on the booth. It was a hot mid-September day! The clothes, jewelry and accessories held up well however : )

How to Get Your Man to Dress for a Formal Occasion
Whether he is your boyfriend or husband, making sure he is dressed up and looking ready to stun all who see him is necessary when going to something formal. A special occasion like a wedding needs formal wear, but your boyfriend or husband may not always want to dress up for that. To make sure you do not go out to a wedding or dance without him being dressed for the specific special occasion, you can do things to make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. A suit can look and feel wonderful, and it is important that he knows just how great being dressed up in formal attire can be.
Here are 5 things you can do to make dressing formal occasion more comfortable and enjoyable for your man:
1. Find Something He Actually Likes
The first step to ensuring your boyfriend or husband will want to dress up in formal attire for the special occasion is to find something that he can actually like. There are many different types and styles, and they are in no way all the same. Figuring out what type of suit your boyfriend or husband would like best is the first step to finding something he will want to wear to the wedding or dance. Have him look through styles so that he can have a better understanding of what is out there for formal attire. Not all formal dress suits are the same and not all types fit every person, so he should be able to find something suitable to his own tastes and body shape.
2. Make Sure the OutFIT Fits Well
No man should go to a wedding or dance, or any special occasion, with a suit that does not fit well. This will cause the clothes to be very uncomfortable, something no adult should have to endure for a long period. No one wants to walk around with something that is just not meant for them, especially when it is for long hours at a wedding or dance. To avoid this issue, go to a local professional who specializes in formal attire for men. They can size your boyfriend or husband and figure out what size suit would be perfect. When with your boyfriend or husband at a wedding, this can make sure you are both happy and very comfortable with how he is dressed.
3. Think in Terms of Longevity
When trying to dress up for that formal wedding or dance, your boyfriend or husband should not have to deal with itchy or uncomfortable fabric. You can avoid this by checking for quality materials and speaking to professionals about what feels nice on the skin. If you have a strict budget, you should make sure you find something affordable but still wearable for your boyfriend or husband. Sacrificing comfort for price will only cause irritation and annoyance, which is not good when staying at a wedding or other formal special occasion for long hours.
4. When in Doubt, Get it Customized
Formal attire, like dress suits, can be customized. By buying something that matches the interests of your boyfriend or husband for different parts of the suit, you can make it more interesting for the wedding. When your boyfriend or husband absolutely hates wearing suits, even for a dance or wedding, this can give him a way to smile a little more when wearing it. That small addition can make being dressed up more interesting, making him more open to dealing with it.
5. Compliment Him!
There is no better encouragement than feeling appreciated. Positive reinforcement [via your loving compliments] is the most important thing you can do to make your man want to look good in formal attire. Better yet, get his friends to compliment on his look as well!

Clothing Care Labels and What They Mean
Let’s face it, if you buy quality clothes you want them to last as long as possible because quality clothing is not cheap. One of the best ways to make sure that your clothes last as long as possible is to make sure that you wash them correctly and, to that end, those little tags that come attached to your clothes will tell you exactly what you need to do to make sure that your clothes aren’t ruined on wash day.
The biggest problem for most people is being able to actually decipher what those little tags are talking about. Of course it doesn’t help that the writing on them is sometimes so small it makes your head hurt and there are symbols that look like ancient hieroglyphics. But the simple fact is that if you don’t want to shrink your new sweater 5 sizes or turn your new white dress purple you’ll need to be able to decode the tags on your clothes and follow the instructions they give you.
Now, depending on the actual article of clothing that you’re washing and its importance you may not need to follow the tags 100% every time. For example, many items can just as easily be washed in cold water when they call for warm with no problems at all. But when it comes to your best clothing, the kind made with the most expensive materials, following the label to the letter is probably a good idea.
For example if the tag has the words ‘only’, ‘no’ or ‘do not’ on them, such as ‘dry clean only’, ‘no bleach’ or ‘do not tumble dry’ you should definitely pay attention. These definitive words are there because the manufacturer knows that to use or do these specific things will almost always ruin whatever it is you’re washing.
Conversely if there isn’t anything mentioned in the way of bleach, tumble dryers or dry cleaning you can pretty much clean the item the way you clean most of your other clothes. Frankly, if you followed the specific instructions for each and every garment a regular load of clothes would take you all day to clean.
In the end using a little bit of common sense will usually suffice. Read the label, put like with like and whatever you do don’t let don’t let your man near the washer and you’ll probably do just fine.

Common Dress Cut Styles and Your Body Type
Ever wonder about different dress cuts and what they mean? Or more importantly, how they would look on you…
Most women have a dominant body shape that’s either: straight, apple, pear or hour-glass.
With that in mind, what is the right dress-cut style that is best for you body type? We identified 4 common dress types and made a proper body type analysis on each of them:
The Halter Cut
One of the most popular style of dresses, as the cut flatters almost any body type. However the belief is that this cut is most ideal for women with the tube / straight or hourglass-shaped bodies. For tube-shaped bodies, the dress helps create a more curvier appearance. The “v”-neck shape accentuates the bust, which gives the waist a trimmer appearance. For hour-glasses shapes, the dress is a perfect choice of cut if you want to further emphasize your curves.
The Empire Waist
A very cute dress cut that seems to be popular amongst younger generations. The seam of the dress sits above the waist, just under the bust. This style is called an “emperor” dress due to it’s first appearance in the 1800’s. Women who wear dresses with an emperor cut risk the chance of having their bodies appear “unbalanced”. Thus the emperor dress is best suited for women that appear more “top-heavy” (ie. have a large bust or broad shoulders). It is not recommended for women who describe themselves as more “bottom-heavy” (ie. have an apple or pear shape), as the dress tends to highlight the middle / waist.
Strapless
The strapless or tube style dress is perfect for those who want to show off their shoulders. The strapless dress is best worn by women with an hour-glass shape, as it smooths out curves and gives creates a harmonious appearance to the body. Additionally, women with a straight or elongated shape can further emphasize a slimmer appearance with this dress. One other mention about strapless dresses is that they tend to emphasize your shoulders…another feature to show off!
Side-Shoulder
Love this! The eye-catching, side-shoulder dress is a trendy alternative to the strapless dress. In comparison to the strapless dress, the side-shoulder dress also shows off the shoulders but creates a sort of “balance” to the body. The side-shoulder style dress is best recommended for women with an apple or pear shape, as most of the attention is dress toward the shoulders and bust. A definite favorite of ours!
We hoped to have given you a better picture of how certain dress styles may look according to your body type. Our analysis is in no way a “rule book” to what you should wear, but rather a reference when see something you love. Your style is all your own and when it comes down to it, no one but yourself knows what looks best on YOU!
